Express!

It's nice to be showered with gifts
around the holidays or any day for that matter! :)
"Who would mind that?" As a reminder, although gifts are welcomed, all of us ladies love to hear from our husbands or boyfriends, just how special we really are. We want to be acknowledged or appreciated in one way or another.
It could be the way we clean our homes. The gentle way that we speak with others. It could be as small as the way we greet our loved ones when they arrive home. Perhaps, it's the meals that you cook for your family or maybe how you wash & fold clothes. What about your career dedication or the education that you're now pursuing! Make sure that the gifts they give aren't given to compensate for their time, good conversing, or compliments. All women deserve compliments from her honey. Make sure that if you're in need of those things, discuss it with your sweetie in a nice way, as this too is a part of healthy communicating.
Food For Thought:
This is a two way street! :)
Men need to feel appreciated.
They could use a compliment here and there...
just don't allow him to get a big ego. lol

Let's Get Physical!

Ladies, this isn't the time to hibernate.
Get out and enjoy the autumn weather!
I know some aren't like me, and perhaps your favorite season is the summertime or spring. Sure, it's certainly beautiful & definitely much warmer. The autumn season brings a mass of vibrant colors to our neighborhoods and gets us in the mood to be festive for the holidays! Such enjoyment!
With all of those special family recipes and delicious desserts, it could make you feel a little guilty, so I'm here to help you.
"Rake" it off! That's exactly what I did today ...alone, just as as I wanted it. Now, I'm the only woman in the house. I have a strong husband and three strong young men, so surely they could've raked. However, I wanted to enjoy the fresh air, & nice breeze across my face and GET FIT! I put all of my muscles to work, including my abs, believe it or not. I may be a little sore in the morning, but it'll be worth the pay off. If you don't have a yard to rake, don't fret. Find other ways of getting fit. Walk in your neighborhood if possible with small 3lb weights or at a local park. If you're working a 9-5 , try walking during your lunch break and take in the scenery. If it's s little chilly, just bundle up. A little air won't hurt you.
Food for Thought:
Don't look at it as labor.
Look at it as your special time alone to relax your mind.
This helps you phycially and mentally.
Reminders:
Consult with your physician beforehand.
Never rake or walk while dark.
Never walk in a wooded area.
Watch your surroundings at all times.
Carry mace when walking in the park or your neighborhood.
Tell a family member or friend of your whereabouts.
Carry a cell phone.

The Spirit Within

PSALM 51:10

Create in me a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me.

Food For Thought:
"Have you considered what a clean
heart & right spirit looks and feels like?"
"Do you know how it will change your life?"
Trust God to show you. Call on Him today!

Girl Talk!

" How lovely is it to chit chat with a friend
over a cup of coffee or hot tea?"
Us girls, always need that special time
to let our hair down and unwind a little.
Naturally, it's never hard to find something to talk about. lol
From our husbands & kids. Our shoes & purses or even cooking & decorating is more than enough! The down time is really what it's all about. (WHeww!) You ladies know "exactly" what I'm talking about. (smile) Set a date with a close friend and just get out! It doesn't have to be anything major. Go to your usual spot or find a quaint little spot and order up a specialty hot beverage and just relax!
Food For Thought:
If your friend isn't available,
don't allow that to stop you from enjoying your own company.
Take a good book to read! :)

Start Counting!

Inspite of what you may be going "through",
count your blessings. "What are you thankful for?"
If you're finding it difficult to be thankful,
I can start you off with one reason to be grateful.
You can read... which means you have eyes to see!
(That's a blessing) :)
Whatever you're thankful for,
hold on tight to it, & keep thinking
of how blessed you really are.

P-U-R-E

1st Corinthians 6: 18-20

6:18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
6:20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1st Corinthians 7: 1,2

7:1 Now concerning the things where of ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
7:2 Nevertheless, [to avoid] fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

It's Getting Close...But No Worries

Ok...we've all been there. When you feel excited about the holidays, then at the same time, you're not so excited. Why? Well, simply because things may not have been exactly as you wanted them to be.
Some have become increasingly stressed & worried over "how" they'll pull off making their Thanksgiving wonderful with very little. The bills have piled up, collector's are constantly calling, the work hours have been cut,and now some may feel an unrealistic need to relieve their concerns in an unhealthy & unproductive way. In doing so, will only make matters worse for all involved. The realistic way to relieve these concerns,... "falling on your knees!"
What a burden lifted!
As you know, this year has sent many into the category of "how"...so if in the past, you've experienced it, you know that you overcame! This year, you can as well.
First, pray that GOD gives you peace over everything. HIS word says, trust HIM in ALL things! From my own personal experience many, many years ago, there was just my 3 sons and I, with no other family members living here. No one to visit, or to visit us. However, we made the best of our situation. I cooked a great meal, and remember being able to buy a brand new television to watch the parade or any thanksgiving specials. It was a blessing for us!
I was happy& thankful that my sons were with me, healthy and enjoyed our time together as a loving family.
My advice, don't worry about what you don't have, just be grateful for what you do have & work with that no matter what it is.
Any meal is enough to be grateful for because some people don't have "anything."
Help: If you're a single parent and you're in need, try contacting some local churches who may be able to provide groceries or a gift certificate for a free turkey. Call your local radio stations to see if they are aware of other assistance. They often help the community for the holidays.
By all means, if you're invited to spend time somewhere else & eat a meal, when you know that you're not able to afford your own for whatever reason, then by all means, that's GOD giving you a blessing. Take it and say, THANK YOU GOD! :)

Food For Thought:

Pride never serves well in your time of need.

Jennifer's Shoes!

GOD IS WITH YOU!

Just starting off writing "this" blog, chills are running all over my arms! The chills are from thanking GOD for this human being...Jennifer! Although,I haven't known her very long or spent a great deal of time with her, I knew that the first time we met, she was a special woman.
How did I know this? Well, for starters she was very friendly. The kind of "friendly" that makes you appreciate "everything". She asked if I was Clay's mom, and I said, "yes". You see, I met Jennifer at our son's basketball practice. We were connected through our sons who are fanatic's over basketball, and they were also in the same classroom last year. As the season went on, Jennifer's bubbly spirit was "touching". She always had a glow, a smile, and lots of laughter!
She reminds me in some ways of my sister Tonya who lives in Baltimore. You could see that Jennifer had a way with kids, she involves herself, and made things fun for "everyone" .
I love that! You see, my sister and my cousin who have boys as I do always compliment me on how I raised them...and I always compliment them. They are the moms who can get down to the nitty gritty of "boys". lol I mean , Playstations, and other boy things! I can do it, however, it's not easy... as soon as I get a control, I'm everywhere, and actually, I'm not doing a darn thing but causing my son to lose the game altogether. lol I'm the one who is the "enforcer". I guess I had to be that way, because I was a single mom for a long time, and I just couldn't allow my sons to even think that they could run over me. Not that their kids did,but I had to cover all bases if you know what I mean. lol
So with Jennifer, I admire that in her. She's a great mom, a great wife, which makes a great woman! You can tell that her character is one of good values and morals. You can spend five minutes with Jennifer and she could change your mood from good to super!
"Isn't that something?" (smile)

"Why am I blogging about Jennifer?" Well, for starters, I care! Jennifer is battling cancer and I'm saddened that this wonderful woman is suffering. Now don't get me wrong, no one ever deserves to suffer from cancer or anything else. Unfortunately, ups and downs is a part of life here on earth. Not only is Jennifer suffering, but her dear husband, Brian who has been such
amazing support, along with her two loving sons. Jennifer's Shoes...not easy to walk in, however, she's still walking!!!! What courage and strength! Most of all , the love that this family has for one another! That's the way it should be in every household with or without an illness. They demonstrated that, well before this came into their lives! Let this be a daily reminder, never, ever take your loved ones for granted. Tell them you love them, kiss them, hug them. Do special things for them. Talk to them, listen to them, concern yourselves with their concerns, help them, ...make them know just how much you truly love them.
Most importantly, let this be a lesson of gratitude! Stop complaining about the small things...let it go. We're all guilty of this, but open your eyes and see the big picture, treasure what you have, and take notice of every single blessing no matter how small or silly it may seem.
Jennifer's shoes...not easy to walk in, but yours are!

In His Hands...Always

"How do you surrender to peace?"

You surrender to peace when you
truly, truly, let go...
and realize that GOD is your creator.
He knows you better than you know yourself.
When "you" just STOP!
Stop trying so hard to make it
work, fit, do, go,stay,etc..
& allow GOD to have HIS way.
HE is ALWAYS in control...
for His will, not yours or mine.

Flow with GOD,and then you'll see
just how smooth your sailing is.

Food For Thought:
The sooner you let go,
the sooner GOD can work on
your cares and burdens!
The longer you worry and stress over it,
the more frustrated you'll become.

LIVE- The - WORD!

JAMES 1:22
But be ye doers of the word,
and not hearers only,
deceiving your own selves.
Food For Thought:
What's the purpose of reading the Bible (the Word)
studying it, wanting to change, then not
"disciplining" ourselves to "do" as the Word tells us?
Pick up your cross, & DO.

Extra Weight!

Things left unsaid may be best when
disengaging from toxic relationships or friendships.
We don't always have to have the last word.
If it's draining your energy and you've traveled
down that road repeatedly, why torment yourself any longer?

Simply, move on!
You'll discover just how freeing
it is to get beyond "drama."

A Secret Place To Dwell

Psalm 91: 1-4
91:1- He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

91:2- I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress:
my God ; in him will I trust.

91:3- Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,
[and] from the noisome pestilence.

91:4- He shall cover thee with his feathers,

It's Almost Turkey Time !

We all know that Thanksgiving is more than just cooking and eating.
It's a time to really reflect on our blessings.Big and small.Everyday that we're able to be here , is truly a blessingas the days are not promised. Whatever blessings we have, Let us remain grateful. Spend time with our family and friends & cherish each moment.
As a reminder, to beat the rush for your dinner shopping, "shop early!" The grocery stores have everything you need right now! Make your list, and each time you go to the store, pick up 5-7 items. Do as much as you like, then just mark it off that it's been taken care of.Also, it doesn't take a big chunk out of your paycheck all at once. Doing it this way will help to alleviate the stress of it all. If you're able, the goal is to have your items purchased atleast a week before Thanksgiving day.
Food Tip:
If you've never had sauerkraut with your Thanskgiving meal, Try it!
I don't know, maybe it's a Baltimore thing. I grew up on it for the holidays!
Decoration Tip:
Don't forget those pretty candles.Even the scented holiday ones, with hints of vanilla, custard,or warm spice.Tableclothes, & Pine cones. You could go to the park, gather the pine cones, wash& dry.
Later, spray paint them with a sparkly glitter gold.
How beautiful! Get creative without too much cost!

Pull It Out & Put It On!

Just this morning, I decided to pull out a metallic purse
that my husband purchased for me about two years ago.
I know in the past year, I haven't used it once!
Well, it's still cute,so I'm going to wear
it proudly just as I did back then!

Try pulling out some of the old purses, shoes, boots, earrings,
hats, or maybe even that stylish necklace that you've been
saving for some "wonderful" reason! Don't forget that unique scarf
that's been hanging up, but you haven't been bold enough to wear it.

Whatever it is, put it on!
Today is that day because you're alive
and that's the best cause to celebrate!

Have FAITH!
Sometimes in life,we just have to
"leap" "jump" or "run"...
Whatever you do,
trust and have faith!

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.

To Whom It May Concern,

Sometime late last night I went to "twitter"

to utilize the boxes just below the blogs that I write.

THANK YOU for that! I'm not sure who's actually reading my blogs or
how many people or even how often. I just hope whomever is reading them,
that they are inspired, motivated, uplifted and encouraged. Perhaps,
I may even make you laugh when you needed it most.

I do have 9 followers and I want to Thank YOU as well, and ALL who visit and maybe even comment. I too sometimes need encouragement, afterall, I'm still human! lol

Your thoughtful consideration inspires me even more!

To Depart Or Not To Depart...Go To The Word

1 st Corinthians 7: 13-15

13-And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not,
and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.

14-For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by his wife,
and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband:
else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

15- But if the unbelieving heart depart,
let him depart.
A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases;
but God hath called us to peace.
