Ok...we've all been there. When you feel excited about the holidays, then at the same time, you're not so excited. Why? Well, simply because things may not have been exactly as you wanted them to be.
Some have become increasingly stressed & worried over "how" they'll pull off making their Thanksgiving wonderful with very little. The bills have piled up, collector's are constantly calling, the work hours have been cut,and now some may feel an unrealistic need to relieve their concerns in an unhealthy & unproductive way. In doing so, will only make matters worse for all involved. The realistic way to relieve these concerns,... "falling on your knees!"
What a burden lifted!
As you know, this year has sent many into the category of "how"...so if in the past, you've experienced it, you know that you overcame! This year, you can as well.
First, pray that GOD gives you peace over everything. HIS word says, trust HIM in ALL things! From my own personal experience many, many years ago, there was just my 3 sons and I, with no other family members living here. No one to visit, or to visit us. However, we made the best of our situation. I cooked a great meal, and remember being able to buy a brand new television to watch the parade or any thanksgiving specials. It was a blessing for us!
I was happy& thankful that my sons were with me, healthy and enjoyed our time together as a loving family.
My advice, don't worry about what you don't have, just be grateful for what you do have & work with that no matter what it is.
Any meal is enough to be grateful for because some people don't have "anything."
Help: If you're a single parent and you're in need, try contacting some local churches who may be able to provide groceries or a gift certificate for a free turkey. Call your local radio stations to see if they are aware of other assistance. They often help the community for the holidays.
By all means, if you're invited to spend time somewhere else & eat a meal, when you know that you're not able to afford your own for whatever reason, then by all means, that's GOD giving you a blessing. Take it and say, THANK YOU GOD! :)
Food For Thought:
Pride never serves well in your time of need.
